Click-Through Rate (CTR)

« Back to Glossary Index

Click-Through Rate (CTR) is a fundamental metric in digital marketing that measures the effectiveness of an online advertising campaign or a specific web element, such as a link or a call-to-action button. CTR calculates the percentage of people who clicked on a link or ad out of the total number of people who were exposed to it. It serves as an indicator of how well a marketing message resonates with its target audience and how compelling it is in driving user engagement.

By analyzing and optimizing CTR, digital marketers can refine their campaigns, tailor messages to their audience, and drive higher engagement, ultimately leading to better conversion rates and improved return on investment (ROI).
